The Check-In Process

This has been an ever-changing process so some things may be changed. You will be checking in at Vista Way.

When you arrive at the complex by car, you will park your car and then head to the pavilion.

If you flew, your taxi/shuttle service (use Mears. for the best price) will drop you off around the corner a bit. Your luggage will be tagged and put in a tent. They will be placed off of the ground (so they won't get dirty) and they will be watched by people from the college housing office and volunteers from various locations at WDW. You will head to the pavilion

     #1 I-9

This is where they will need the ID's (driver's license, soc. sec. card). If you do not have them, you will need to obtain them before you are allowed to go to Traditions.

      #2 Placement

Where you find out which Apt. you will spend the next few months in. They double-check your preference such as 2, 3 or 4 Bedroom on the Job Interest form. Students who are under 21 will

    #3 Community Codes

This is the listings of the rules and regulations of Vista Way. A list is given to be signed as well as a copy to keep. You will also sign your payroll deduction for which allow Housing to deduct your rent every week.
*Remember, you will have DOUBLE rent taken out of your second check, so don't be surprised about your second check.*

     #4 Keys & Car Decal

You are given the key to your apt.  You can also pick op your car decal as well. Please make sure you have a copy of the Registration for the vehicle as well as proof of CURRENT insurance, as well as a valid Drivers License.

    #5 ID

  #6 Education

The seminar schedule is given to you.

# 7 DROPPING OFF LUGGAGE

Basically this is to your apt and stakes your claim as to which bed/bedroom you want. People who fly will have assistance in transporting their luggage from the clubhouse to their apartments.

#7 Welcome Session

This is a 90 minute session that goes over all the important information you will need to know about your 4-6 months on the college program.

APPROX TIME TO GO THROUGH 1-6: 30-45 minutes

Day 2

This is where you will find out where you will be working as well as your Traditions date. You will also fill out your financial forms, along with all the fun forms that Disney has for you to sign.

MISC

Anyone who was pended (for lack of ID) and removed from Traditions will be rescheduled for Traditions later in the week. You will be rescheduled provided that you provide the necessary documents to clear yourself (like you obtain another Soc Sec Card). Traditions is the first full day of work, thus it is the first day to be paid. It is extremely important that you have all of your information with you or obtain it quickly.

The first paycheck will not amount to very much because the first week is only a partial week (you won't be working 40 hours). A small 1st paycheck should be of no surprise. This is why you are told in everything that has been sent to you to bring spending money for the first couple of weeks. Paychecks come every Thursday.

The first day that you need to be appropriately dressed is your Traditions day.

Vista Federal Credit Union will be at Vista Way during the week to help open accounts for those interested. (If you have an account back home, I suggest that you bring down the information with you so that you are able to direct deposit your paycheck in your account. The ATM machine at Vista Way doesn't charge any fee's, so it's pretty easy to get cash when you need it without opening a new account.)

Other than the housing meeting, you are basically free to do whatever you need to do this day. You have time to run family/friends to the airport, go out to eat, go to Target or Wal-Mart, run to Publix (the grocery store with the best prices in the area), etc.
