Curious about what role you could have?
Here's a list of all the FANTASMIC possibilities!
(descriptions provided by www.wdwcollegeprogram.com)

Quick-Service Food & Beverage

You could work in one of 250+ locations around property. This role involves prolonged standing, lifting and possibly the pushing of carts. High volume and Guest contact is key. As in all roles, we are responsible for keeping our areas clean. This role will involve bussing table, cleaning of kitchen and counter equipment, and working with chemicals. In addition, your role may include filling orders, preparing and assembling food items, cashiering and working in the kitchen. You may work in areas where dispensing and selling of alcohol is involved. A great advantage to this role is having the opportunity to work in a business environment and having the exposure to a heavy revenue-generating component of our organization.

Merchandise

There are hundreds of retail locations located on property, each with different themes and experiences. You may be working at one of them. These locations are located both indoors and outdoors (carts). In this case you could be dealing with the outside elements: heat/humidity, cold temps and/or wet conditions. Critical thinking and the ability to do multiple tasks is an important quality to have in this role. "Merchantainment" is the way in which Disney creates magical memories for out Guests who shop at these locations. It stands for "merchandising + entertainment = magic for our guests". Some duties may include: money room, floor stocker, possible preparation of food/candy, package delivery, stroller rental, etc.

Operations (Attractions, Parking, Park Greeter)

This is a unique role. Students who receive an Operations offer will be placed in one of these three areas: Attractions, Parking and Park Greeter. You must b flexible to work in ALL aspects of one of these three roles. Although they are different, they have lots of similarities. In some cases you will be expected to provide a long or short narration and have the ability to operate within a technical and physically demanding environment. The locations of these roles have different themes and experiences. In any of these three positions you will be working independently, or as part of a team of 2 to 20 people, and you will be assisting a high volume of guests.

Attractions:  Students in this role may not be located at a "ride", but have an opportunity to work in a theater show, or even on one of the Friendship Boats in Epcot.
Parking:   Students will be greeting all the Guests who come in by vehicle, working mainly outside or at the toll plaza. You will be expected to operate or drive a motorized vehicle, and a valid driver's license is required. Did you know that we park over 100,000 cars a day?
Park Greeter:   Students in this role are usually the first contact for many of our Guests. You will have the opportunity to greet and welcome all the Guests who enter into the park, so keep in mind it will be a fast-paced environment. Students will also need to have knowledge of the different ticket media to be able to validate the Guests tickets.

Custodial

The Walt Disney World Resort is known for its "world class" cleanliness, and you would be a part of that world-renowned team. A Cast Member in this role would have high Guest interaction and the opportunity for independent work. Not many people know that this team does clean everything, including restrooms, while working with cleaning chemicals and equipment. Other responsibilities could include bussing restaurants, sweeping and emptying trash cans. There are a very limited number of custodial positions that use roller blades (as you saw in the video clip). Nonetheless, this is a popular role due to the independence and fun that goes along with it.

Lifeguard

As a Disney lifeguard, of course you must have strong swimming skills. You will endue physically challenging work, exposure to the elements (sun!) and will be responsible for thousands of Guests. We have three water parks and numerous resort pools and marinas. This role may also include other recreational duties such as cashier or custodial during your shift. Even though the role is open to all students, you must pass a local swim test prior to your arrival and then you will be re-evaluated and certified at the resort. Initial lifeguard training as well as skill training regardless of pervious qualifications should be provided if applicable. Maintaining Guests' safety at the resort pools, marinas or water parks is out #1 expectation. In the event you do not pass the swim test described below, you will be placed in an alternate role.
Lifeguard Swim Test = Make appointment for local swim test; swim 200 yards freestyle or breaststroke; retrieve a 10lb brick from deepest section of pool (minimum 8' depth); tread water with hands out of water for 2 minutes; instructor validates skills, completes and form. (Form available on www.wdwcollegeprogram.com)
